Mission Reach

This master plan study looked at the 12 mile stretch of river south of downtown.  This portion of the San Antonio River had been neglected for many years and it was an unhealthy and dangerous place to be.  The vision of the County and the City to create a healthy and vibrant oasis had many goals including environmental improvements, water quality improvements, cultural enhancements and economic benefits.  Working with civil engineers, landscape architects and fluvial geomorpholigists, the team put together the initial design concepts.  The team worked with a variety of stakeholders, including neighborhood associations, the National Park Service, the San Antonio River Authority, the City of San Antonio and Bexar County.
